Document upload guide

Everything you need to know about the documents required for your Pre-Rental Check-In — and how to capture clear photos for quick approval.

What you need to provide

Front of driving licence

A clear photo of the front of your photocard driving licence. All text and the photo must be fully visible and legible.

Back of driving licence

A clear photo of the back of your photocard driving licence, showing the full document.

Proof of address

A utility bill, bank statement or council tax letter dated within the last 3 months, showing your name and current address.

DVLA check code

Generate a code at gov.uk/view-driving-licence. Enter the 8-character code in the check-in form — no photo needed.

Payment card

Bring your credit or debit card to collection. You do not need to photograph this — just have it ready at the branch.

Photo tips

How to capture clear photos

Clear, well-lit photos help us approve your check-in quickly. Follow these tips for the best results.

Use good lighting

Take photos in natural daylight or a well-lit room. Avoid shadows and glare on the document.

Place on a flat surface

Lay the document flat on a dark, plain background. Hold your phone directly above it.

Fill the frame

Make sure the entire document fills the photo — no edges cut off, no fingers in shot.

Check it is in focus

Tap the screen to focus before taking the photo. All text must be sharp and readable.

Avoid reflections

If the document has a shiny surface, angle slightly to avoid glare from lights or windows.

Use high resolution

Use your phone's main camera. Screenshots or low-quality images may be rejected.

Important

  • • Your documents are stored securely and only used for pre-rental checks.
  • • We will never ask for your National Insurance number.
  • • You must still bring your original driving licence to the branch for collection.
  • • Blurry or incomplete photos may delay your check-in approval.
