Rental terms

1. Rental agreement

The rental agreement is formed when the Enfield branch confirms your booking and you sign the rental agreement at collection. These rental terms outline the standard conditions that apply to all hires from Vehicles On Demand Limited trading as Practical Car & Van Rental Enfield (Company No: 17149551) at 22 Island Centre Way, Enfield, EN3 6GS.

2. Age requirements

• The minimum age to hire a vehicle is 21 years.
• Drivers aged 21–24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge and some vehicle categories may not be available.
• There is no upper age limit, but drivers aged 65+ should contact the branch in advance to confirm any additional requirements.
• Some premium or larger vehicles may carry a higher minimum age.

3. Driving licence requirements

• All drivers must hold a full, valid driving licence (photocard or equivalent) that has been held for a minimum of 12 months.
• A DVLA check code must be provided so we can verify your licence record online.
• EU/EEA and international licence holders should contact the branch in advance — additional documentation may be required.
• Licences with certain endorsements or convictions may be referred. Please contact the branch before booking if you have any endorsements.
• Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the lead driver and be present at collection with their own documents.

4. Documentation at collection

You must bring the following to collection: your original driving licence photocard, a DVLA check code, proof of address dated within the last 3 months, and a credit or debit card in the lead driver's name. We cannot release the vehicle without these documents.

5. Vehicle allocation

Vehicle categories are shown as examples only. We will provide a vehicle of the equivalent category or better. The actual make, model and registration may vary and is not guaranteed unless explicitly confirmed by the branch.

6. Mileage and fuel

Mileage allowances and any excess mileage charges are confirmed when your booking is confirmed. Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel unless otherwise agreed and should be returned with a full tank. A refuelling charge applies if the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at collection.

7. Insurance and excess

All vehicles include standard comprehensive insurance as detailed on our Insurance Information page. A refundable excess deposit is held on the lead driver's card. Optional excess reduction products are available — ask the branch when booking.

8. Hirer responsibilities

• The hirer is responsible for the vehicle during the rental period.
• You must report any damage, fault or incident to the branch as soon as possible.
• The hirer is liable for any damage, excess mileage, fuel shortages, and traffic or parking charges incurred during the rental.
• The vehicle must not be used for racing, off-road driving, or any illegal purpose.
• Only authorised drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.

9. Cancellation and returns

Cancellation terms are confirmed at the time of booking. Vehicles must be returned to the Enfield branch at the agreed return time and in the agreed condition. Late returns may incur additional charges. Please contact the branch as soon as possible if you need to extend or amend your rental.
